Raiding Incentive System (RIS)
How do I earn RIS points?
Basic Points Allocation. (See individual Raids below for specific Raid Boss values).
Attending raids:
Attending a raid session: 1
Completing a raid session: 1 (only if full raid session completed).
Boss attempts: half Boss Kill value per attempt (meaning each time per session there is a boss attempt).
"Standard" Boss Kill: 1
"Hard" Boss Kill: 2
Attending a Raid as a standby but not actually joining the raid: 0.5 (Standby players must be available for the complete Raid session).
Examples:
Player 1 joins a raid session from the beginning to end, killing 3 Standard bosses.
Player 1's RIS pts for that session would be: 5. (1 for participation, 1 for Completion, 3 for Boss kills)
Player 2 has joined the raid session but leaves after the second boss has been downed.
Player 2's RIS pts for that session would be: 3. (1 for participation, 1 for 1st Boss kill, 1 for 2nd Boss Kill)
Player 3 comes in to replace Player 2 and the group kills the 3rd boss, and then the raid finishes for the night.
Player 3's RIS pts for that session would be: 2. (1 for participation, 1 for Boss kill)
Player 4 has four attempts on a Boss and wipes every time, then the raid finishes.
Player 4's RIS pts would be 4. (1 for coming, 1 for completing, 2 for Boss attempts).
Player 5 has three attempts on a boss and finally kills him on the 4th, then raid finishes, pts awarded: 4.5 (1 for participation, 1 for completion, 1.5 for attempts, 1 for kill).
Points will be carried over from each raid session, so the more you raid the more points you accrue.
R.I.S pts are accrued as a Player and are not dependent upon which character you are on. (Standard Kinshp Loot Policy applies, you may only roll for loot for the character you are on).
Okay, so I've earned some RIS points, how do I use them?
Instead of using your points to barter for raid loot, as used in normal DKP systems, the points you accumulate are used to influence the gods of fate and chance.
Generally, when rolling for loot, each player will type /roll and the game with give them a random value between 1 - 100. The highest being the winner.
The players with accrued RIS pts can (before rolling) decide to add some or upto 50 of their points to their roll, to increase their odds of winning the roll.
Example: Boss is down, everyone is about to roll on the Prized loot
The following RIS pts have been accrued:
Player 1 0
player 2 10
player 3 20
Player 4 30
Player 1 rolls normally, as he does not have any RIS pts.
Player 1 rolls: 72 + 0 RIS = 72.
Player 2 doesn't have this piece, but is not too bothered. He'll save his points for later.
Player 2 rolls: 65 + 0 RIS = 65.
Player 3 decides he really wants this loot and will add all his RIS pts to his roll.
Player 3 rolls: 59 + 20 RIS = 79.
Player 4 wants the loot, but it's not the piece he really wants. He spends 10 RIS pts, saving 20 for later.
Player 4 rolls: 65 + 10 = 75.
Player 3 wins the loot with a Total score of 79 and his RIS pts total is set back to 0.
Note: Only points used to influence the roll, will be deducted from the players total. So in the example above, if player 4 had won the roll, only 10 pts would be deducted from his RIS pts total.
All other players who used RIS pts to influence their roll total, get them back to try again next time.
All standard Kinship Loot Rules still apply, 1 gem per player per raid, etc.
When can I start using my points?
You can use any points that have been accrued before the current raid session. So for example, you join a raid on session 1, and start gaining RIS pts, you can start using those points from the next session onwards. You cannot use points gained in a raid session, to influence rolls within the same session.
Obviously, you can only use points you have already accrued (no IOUs), and points cannot be shared between players, no exceptions.
There is no minimum, if you want to add 1 to your roll you can, as long as you have declared it before you roll. The maximum is 50.
Do my points expire?
Points will be re-set to 0 after three months of Raid inactivity.
What if I am late signing up for the raid and I dont get in week after week?
Priority will be given to kin as always and the classes will be rotated so that everyone gets to go over time. If possible, we will run two raids per week as necessary.
Do the points transfer between instances?
Only between Raid Instances within the same expansion.
Shadows of Angmar: Helegrod and The Rift of Nurz Ghashu. (Now R.I.S exempt).
Mines of Moria: Vile Maw, Filikul, Dar Narbugud.
R.I.S Golden Ticket
Any player who has accumulated 100pt R.I.S pts may trade them in for a 'Golden Ticket'. The 'GT' allows the player to buy an item* outright, without any rolls needing to take place. If multiple players use a 'GT' at the same time, a straight roll off is performed to work out the winner.
* Currently only 1st Age Items & Barter Coins for 1st Age Items may be bought out using the 'Golden Ticket'.
Individual Raid Information.
Vile Maw: 3 points per kill for Watcher.
Filikul: 1 point per kill for Nornuan.
Dar Narbugud: 1 point per kill for first 5 bosses.
Dar Narbugud: 3 points per kill for last boss.
All R.I.S rules are subject to change and will be re-evaluated periodically. For any circumstances that arise not covered by the rules, the Raid Leader has final decision.
